A Community of Conversation | Portland Maine Maternity and Newborn Photographer

October 19, 2016

Portland Maine Baby and Family Photographer Tiffany Farley, http://tiffanyfarley.comEarlier this year, I made a goal in my business to better care for my email subscribers. I not only wanted to be more consistent in how often I sent my email newsletters out, but I also committed to not sending anything out unless it was filled with quality content. Because there’s a lot of noise out there, and I just had no interest in adding to it.

And to be honest, I haven’t been perfect at this so far. In fact, it’s something I want to do a whole lot better in the year to come, and I have been working SO hard behind the scenes to make it happen!

The biggest “aha” moment I had this fall when I got thinking of how to serve my email subscribers better, was that I actually no longer want to send out an Email Newsletter at all. I no longer want to create these pretty emails, and then send them to this amazing list of subscribers- while never really getting to know who it is that I am even talking to. I have felt like something was MISSING here, but I just didn’t know exactly what it was or how to fix it.

But then it hit me… I don’t just want to build a successful Email Newsletter- I instead want to build a Community of Conversation.

Every time you open an email from me, I want you to feel like we are having coffee together. I agree with you, it’s an over-used analogy, but man it just really fits what I have in store for us…Connection, Community, & Conversation.

Yesterday I bravely shared this new vision and opened the first conversation, a bit unsure how it would be received, or if it would be read with the same kind of heart I wrote from. And let me tell you, I was OVERWHELMED in the best possible way by the response. The beautiful, beautiful response.

Moms. Photographers. Dreamers…you filled my inbox with exactly what I hoped for. And for the first time, I actually felt like this whole email thing was RIGHT.

I am so pumped for this fresh start, and I can’t wait to get all of the conversations rolling. In the meantime, does this sound like a community of conversation that you want in on? You can join us by entering your email below. I can’t wait to learn more about you!!!

I completely relate to this sentiment and find the email space such a great way to build community. Looking forward to your emails!
