The softness of their little head. Their sweet baby scent. Their super tiny feet. The way their fingers are always clasped around one of yours. The way they fit you….so perfectly. Tucked in under your chin, so protected and so safe. So little.

This newborn session was photographed last winter in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. The baby’s father was serving in the Marines at the time, and wouldn’t be there to share these precious, fleeting moments. This new mommy could not be where her husband was to share this time with him.

But photographs. Could be.
