2015 Mentoring Sessions for Photographers

December 16, 2014

Since Fall of 2014, I have worked with over 40 photographers 1-1 on building their brand experience for their clients. In this past year and half, I have stepped out and tried different structures and ways of booking these mentoring sessions that would be unique and out of the box. I have been so incredibly blessed to work some incredible photographers who were finally ready to say yes to building the business and brand that they have dreamed of, and it has been SUCH a rewarding season for me as I have seen brands take off in such exciting directions.

As you may have taken notice from the website, Simplicity is the name of the game for 2015 around here. ( a post sharing more about that soon!) I will now be announcing mentoring dates by season, and in an effort to spend more time on exciting 2015 projects for my own brand and business, spots will be much more limited.

Mentoring will now be available as individual sessions, either in-person here in Portland, Maine or online via Skype. Sessions will be 2 hours in length. All mentoring clients are given access to an exclusive shared virtual workbook to get you ready for our session. You can work on the questions at your own pace, and print it when you’re finished. Prior to our session, I take a look at your answers so that I can best prepare for our time together. Every mentoring session is custom to each photographer, and the workbook ensures that we stick to the topics that YOU want help with.

Topics of the session often cover:

Your website, an in depth critique on the message you are sending potential clients simply from your website portfolio, wording, and navigation. There is something so powerful about bringing in an outside perspective on what potential clients are really seeing and understanding about your brand, simply from the words and images on your website. A website is far more than graphic design, or which template you are using. The words and the images you choose to show what you want to book are just as important.

Your brand experience from start to finish– from booking to the final delivery of images. This often includes a look at how you educate clients before they book, how you welcome clients into an experience with your brand after they book, in-person sales vs online galleries, and more. From client websites to printed session guides and welcome packets- how clients order their images, etc. We look at who you your client is, what your brand values, and we work together in coming up with a plan for your client experience that reflects those things.

Pricing and Products– is your pricing confusing clients? Are you starting another year STILL not confident in what you should charge and why? Pricing is different for EVERY photographer and every business owner. I don’t believe in a one fits all formula, so I can help you create a pricing structure that fits YOUR needs and still makes sense to first time viewers.

• Working with your ideal client – maybe you ended the year feeling like you still just haven’t found what you love to photograph, and the burn out was greater than the satisfaction of doing what you love. It can be really overwhelming when you are building your business and trying to figure out how to work more, or even exclusively, with clients who get your vision and value your work. As someone who has been there in my own business, I can definitely help you come up with a plan to see the big picture.

Building a niche in the industry- as someone who went from photographing everyone and everything, to narrowing down my ideal client, I have learned SO much about what it means to specialize and I love sharing about that process with others.

I am passionate for mentoring photographers who are looking to build a unique brand with their own voice in the industry. I want to hear what YOU are passionate for, what YOU love to photograph, and the dream brand YOU have in mind for 2015, and see you leave with an action plan on how to make that dream a reality.

What People Are Saying…

“I knew that I was going to start the rebranding process soon. So I booked a Mentoring Session to start the process off right. When we went into our session, I wasn’t sure what I wanted my brand to be, nor did I know what I wanted the visual brand to look like! Tiffany and I brainstormed for several hours, she pulled things out of me that I didn’t know were there and helped spark the beginning of my current brand, a brand that I couldn’t be more proud of! Her ideas were amazing and really made me think… “wow, why didn’t I think of that! How could she come up with that after spending just a few hours with me!” Just proves that sometimes we need outside, uninvolved eyes to open up a whole new world. DO IT… NOW!!! It will be one of the best investments for your business you have ever made! You won’t regret it!”  LANIE COULTER, PHOTOGRAPHER

“DO IT! You won’t regret it! Being able to sit and chat with Tiffany was so helpful and rewarding — it allowed us to see our business through the eyes of an established, successful professional and subsequently make the appropriate changes in almost every aspect so that we could grow in the direction and become the brand we were struggling to establish. Her insight and suggestions made everything seem a little less overwhelming and being held accountable helped us actually move towards making the changes we’d been talking about for so long!” MALIKA LUTHRA, PHOTOGRAPHER

“Tiffany is an open book that will guide you at whatever stage you are in. She understands the frustration of mistakes along the way, the uncertainty of many photographers who do everything and are looking to become an expert at just one thing. But most of all I would say that she VALUES the core, the foundation, the meaning of who you are as a photographer and what you want to share with others with your business. She has made me understand that vision and now I am like a fountain just overflowing with ideas ready to make my business a STRONG, cohesive “THING” that I am pouring a LOT of my own self into. My creativity, My vision, My passion. And I ADORE that.”  TANYA PABOR, PHOTOGRAPHER

“I am SO thankful that I decided to do a one-on-one with Tiffany. It has definitely been one of the best things I’ve ever done for my business. She is so amazing and sweet, and our session left me feeling encouraged and motivated to get my brand connected and cohesive. I absolutely loved the workbook that she sent as well! It challenged me to think about who I really am, what I love, and what I want my business to reflect.   Seriously, I felt (and still feel) so blessed, inspired, and empowered after our meeting, and I am ready to start the New Year with a bang. I am so thankful she shared her knowledge and ideas with me to help me give my clients the best experience possible!” ALEXANDRIA HINDERS, PHOTOGRAPHER
